We’re Chance and Tianna Waite-Jackson — a husband and wife team, adventurers at heart, and proudly rooted in Central Oregon. We moved to Bend because something about this place just clicked. The mountains, the rivers, the craft beer scene, the people who wave at you on the trail — it all felt like home from day one.
When we’re not working, you’ll find us mountain biking Phil’s Trail, kayaking the Deschutes, skiing Mt. Bachelor, hiking to Tumalo Falls, or checking out the newest brewery in town. Bend isn’t just where we live — it’s where we come alive.

Here’s the thing: we love Bend so much that we couldn’t keep it to ourselves. Guide to Bend started as a passion project — we wanted to create a fun, informative, and genuinely beautiful experience for anyone thinking about visiting Central Oregon.
We’ve seen too many city guides that feel sterile, outdated, or like they were written by someone who’s never actually been there. We wanted something different. Something that captures the feeling of being in Bend — the golden light on the Cascades at sunset, the buzz of a packed brewery on a Friday night, the quiet magic of a trail you have all to yourself.
This site is our love letter to Bend. We built it to share the trails we hike, the restaurants we crave, the neighborhoods we adore, and the events we never miss. We want you to fall in love with this place the same way we did — and when you’re ready to make it official, we’ll be here to help you find home.
