Bend runs on sunshine, mountain air, and really, really good coffee. Whether you need a pre-hike espresso, a cozy work-from-café spot, or a lazy Sunday latte with a view, Bend’s coffee scene has you completely covered.
Thump Coffee
With multiple locations around town, Thump is Bend’s homegrown roaster. Their beans are sourced from small farms around the world and roasted locally. The downtown location is always buzzing, but the flagship spot on Greenwood Avenue has the best patio for people-watching.
Strictly Organic Coffee Company
Since 1999, Strictly Organic has been roasting fair-trade, organic, and sustainably-grown coffee right here in Bend. Their café on Greenwood features free WiFi, bottomless drip coffee, and a spacious patio that’s perfect for remote workers.
The Commons
Tucked into the historic Goodwillie-Allen-Rademacher House (built 1904), The Commons serves Thump Coffee alongside Sparrow Bakery pastries with a view of Mirror Pond at Drake Park. It’s possibly the most beautiful coffee spot in all of Central Oregon.
Looney Bean
A locally roasted gem on Brooks Street in downtown Bend. Looney Bean has a loyal following for their smooth espresso drinks and laid-back atmosphere. If you’re looking for a coffee shop that feels like it was made by Bend, for Bend — this is it.
Bent Coffee
This family-owned coffee house has quickly become a neighborhood favorite. With locally-roasted beans, house-made pastries, and bagel sandwiches, Bent is the kind of spot where you stop in for a quick coffee and end up staying for two hours.
Backporch Coffee Roasters
Another Bend-born roaster with a cult following. Backporch has several locations around town, and their seasonal blends are always worth trying. The Industrial Way location has a great outdoor seating area with mountain views.
The best part about Bend’s coffee culture? Almost every shop is locally owned, community-oriented, and genuinely invested in quality. You won’t find many chains here — and that’s exactly the point.
